While Idaho is home...

to some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, in 2020 it was also home to:

2,292

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

5,784

INCIDENTS OF INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE

973

CHILD SEXUAL
ABUSE CHARGES

It's important to remember that these are only the reported incidents. Statistically, only 1/3 of incidents are reported, so the numbers are likely much, much higher. Kootenai County has the unfortunate distinction of regularly leading the state in these statistics.

Help, Hope & Safety

With numbers like that, our victim support services here at Safe Passage are more important than ever. Our free 24/7 safety planning and emergency shelter serve hundreds of families each year. Our counseling, child advocacy, and court and medical advocacy services guide survivors through their troubling times. And our teen outreach program reaches thousands of kids per year, giving them the education and resources to help keep them safe and prevent the cycle from repeating.

Ultimately, we’re working to make this a beautiful place again. For everyone.

Individuals and groups

Safe Passage is able to support hundreds of survivors each year thanks to the generosity of people like you. We gladly accept one-time gifts, or if desired, a regularly scheduled contribution can be set up through your bank. We also appreciate endowments, honorariums, memorials and other long-term gifts. Anything you give helps to heal and change lives.
